Overcoming Leukemia

Molly spent much of her life fighting Leukemia.  She was diagnosed at three years old. She received chemo treatment from three years of age to five and a half years of age. Molly always had such a strong and confident way about her even as a young three-year-old.  When she was sick with Leukemia, Molly told her her parents, “Don’t worry, Jesus is going to heal me”.  As Molly grew into a teenager, she continued to live her life boldly with hope for the future. She was able to attend the Medical City Dallas Camp iHope every summer with other children that had been affected by childhood cancer.

Camp iHope was free for all of the campers and siblings with funds being raised via fundraisers and donations. Camp iHope was Molly’s favorite part of her summer year after year. Siblings are also given the opportunity and privilege to attend Camp iHope as well. Molly had many memories of attending each summer with her brother Cole and sister Kinley.

Molly always used her “cancer journey” to encourage others. Molly was accepted to be a counselor in training for summer 2022. She attended a leadership weekend prior to the full week camp to learn the appropriate procedures. She then was able to attend her very last Camp iHope as a leader in training, which was a wonderful experience. She poured into the children what she had received every summer from the age of six.

Academics

Another passion of Molly’s was her intense focus on academics and plans for her future. Molly was always striving to better herself in all that she did. She was self-motivated, focused and extremely humbled when any attention was placed on her. Molly graduated from Whitehouse High School with Honors, Wildcat Scholar, CCR Cord of Honor, TJC DC with Distinction, National Honor Society and Red Cord of Honor. Molly was planning on attending Blinn Community College and transfer into the Texas A&M system after her first year. Molly was planning on pursuing Speech Pathology and work with special needs children. Molly’s Mission hopes to assist a graduating senior with funds towards higher education.

Faith

Molly’s short life of eighteen years was emersed in her faith. Molly accepted Christ at nine years of age. She strived to live the kind of life God created her for…being kind, sharing her faith, and showing love to the world.
